Caregiving: journaling

Tammy, “The Daily Warrior” acknowledged this journal in her entry ‘The Reflection Award’.

Bea, “The Wanderer” tagged me with her “Thinking Blogger Award” and as a “Rockin’ Man Blogger” <grin>.

I am genuinely honored to have been highlighted by two fellow journal writers. That these writers are women of such strength is humbling.

So why do I not complete the assigned awards by following directions and in turn acknowledge 5 additional journals?

I suspect I was traumatized years ago as I tried to assemble our daughter’s Fisher Price Sesame Street Playhouse. The directions were written in speech balloons emanating from the mouth of picture after picture of a perpetually happy Big Bird. I’ve never been the same when it comes to following directions. <grin>

More likely, I simply believe that too many who try to share, or are thinking about sharing, are still working through the complexity of opening their life and developing their journal skills.

I read and value ALL the journal writers listed to the right of this entry.

However IF the journal Gestapo tortured me by tearing off the hair on my body with duct tape for hours on end until I broke down and “nominated” someone. I could only cryptically babble that the most reflective, thinking, rockin’ influence is from someone who does not even write a journal.

Caregivingly Yours, Patrick Leer

  1. Hi Patrick,  I came across your journal in the new entries.  I am a Home Health Aide.  I got my training taking care of my husband, who was diagnosed with MS in 1983.  He's been gone 4 years now.  I'd like to come back and read more at a later time.  I'm in the middle of moving right now.  I just wanted to stop by and say HI.

  2. I am sorry Big Bird traumatized you so much!!!  LOL  I love putting things together, and I don't read the directions :)  But, I am like you, wouldn't be able to nominate a journal, I don't have the time, and I love all the ones I read!

  4. Now THAT'S what I'd call "thinking" !!  And so sorry to hear about the trauma caused by those speech balloons lol.  Just want to add that I appreciate you keeping me as a "valued" Journaler in spite of the hackles I seem to raise, at times to my unending amazement.  xoxo CATHY

  5. Hi hon, I've seen you around J-land from time to time and thought I should finally call around and break the ice. Finally someone who understands my own dilemna! I myself have been nominated several times for both the Thinking Blogger Award, as well as the Rockin' Girl Award. I'm one of those people when it comes to saying thanks, turns into an idiotic bumbling, fumbling fool. So in the end although ( like yourself)I appreciate the awards. I find in all humble honesty I couldn't nominate anyone else. Then again perhaps it has to do with my demeanor to break the rules rather than follow them (winks). I will continue to stop by and read from time to time. I think what you do for your mother is not only noble, but compassionate. (Hugs) Indigo
