Sunday I had the honor of congratulating and shaking the hand of a woman who will become a US citizen this week. Her smile, her pride, and her sense of achieving a dream genuinely touched me.
With the approaching shadow of the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, it was refreshing to be reminded that there are people who not only will stand with us but are proud to join us.
How wonderful! I'm so glad for you and her as well. :o)

How wonderful for you! Don't those ceremonies just grab at your heart-strings? To hear and see people who took the trouble of studying our land, learning about the Constitution, the Declaration of Independance, the Bill of Rights, going to classes and learning English - people who show in their deeds how much this country means to them and why they want to be citizens. Love it. CATHY
