caregiving: 'cadWeazle' powered beach wheelchair with solar roof

Caregivingly Yours videos on You Tube never cease to amaze me. This morning I received a video comment from a viewer in Kiel, Germany to my video Multiple Sclerosis & family: beach wheelchair

Marius shared the following 47 second video about a  Selbstfahrender Ballonradrollstuhl mit Solardach (powered beachwheelchair with solar roof).

“cadWeazle” on the shoreline in Den Haag, Netherlands (47 seconds)

A ‘shout out’ to German engineering!

Even more intriguing to me as a spouse caregiver are their EuroTrak wheelchair customizations.

What extraordinary freedom of access to sand, water, snow, hiking trails, forests, and fields.

No need to transfer to a beach wheelchair with just a minute or two of time you simply convert your own wheelchair to an all terrain wheelchair. Switch back wheels to balloon tires attach front third wheel harness and off you go!

Ich danke Ihnen ‘cadkat’!

  1. This is a fine example on how some countries encourage those with handicaps to embrace life. I love the whole idea of changing the tires and being able to make it all terrain. (Hugs) Indigo

  2. dang, they said the video was no longer available when I clicked it on; but its a great concept to remove tires and change from one terrain to another; imagine the advances that will happen in the next few years with technology and wheelchairs

  3. Das Strandrollstuhlidee ist sehr raffiniert. Ich denke, dass Patti ein haben möchte! And that is about as much Deutsche I can muster. What a cool idea... I'm sure that Patti would love to have one of those. bea

  5. Wheelchairs and those devices have certainly come a long way! I remember trying to find the smallest wheelchair made in order to really servce Charlie and thinking those were grand!!

  6. Only got to look at the pictures here in the entry, but what cool chairs.  We had an old bare bones wheelchair that we used to lift into the shallow end of my brother-in-law's pool, it took three of us, but from there, with floaties on the arms, hubby got to go swimming.  We walked backwards through tough sand and bumpy lawns(manual chair), things are alot easier now.
